Short version: Folio is a monthly money journal. Your transactions, plans, categories, sources, tags, notes, receipts, and attachments are stored on your device by default. Folio does not sell your data, does not use advertising SDKs, and does not collect location data.
Folio helps you record where your money came from and where it went. The app may store the information you choose to enter, including transactions, planned payments, categories, sources, tags, notes, receipt images, attachment files, audio notes, settings, and subscription status.
This money journal data is stored locally on your device using an app database and app-managed files. Folio does not operate a general server that stores or reads your journal content.
Folio does not request location permission and does not collect precise or approximate location data. The app is designed as a money journal, not a map or location tracking service.
Folio may offer optional backup or sync features. If you enable backup or sync:
Folio Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Folio does not receive or store your card number, bank details, or full payment information.
To keep Pro access working, Folio may store limited subscription state, such as whether Pro is active and the expiry date. This may be stored locally and, where supported, synced through Firebase/Firestore using a device key. This subscription data is used only to provide and restore Pro access.
Folio does not include advertising SDKs and does not sell analytics data. If analytics or crash reporting is enabled during testing or production, it is used to understand app stability and basic app usage. Crash reports and diagnostics are not intended to include your transaction notes, receipt contents, or money journal entries.
If you attach receipt images, photos, audio notes, or other files, Folio stores those files for your journal use. These files remain on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or sync them.
Folio may let you export or share your own records, such as reports, receipts, or transaction summaries. Exporting or sharing is controlled by you.
You can delete records inside the app where deletion is available. You can also remove locally stored Folio data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from Android settings. Data already exported, shared, or backed up outside the app must be managed in the place where you sent or stored it.
Folio's core money journal features are designed to work without creating a Folio account. Some optional services, such as cloud backup, Play Billing, or platform services, may require accounts with the relevant provider.
Folio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Folio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
